JUL 19: EVERCLEAR DIGITAL DOWNLOADS
This week, Capitol Records' parent company, EMI, began making tracks
by their artists available for purchase via digital download. Included
in the first batch of downloads is Everclear's So Much for the Afterglow,
available in the Windows Media format.
Eventually, these tracks should appear on the various online music
stores, such as CDNow.com. As
of today, however, they're only available at HMV.com.
This is mostly noteworthy for its implications for the future of
music delivery as opposed to any added convenience - even at
HMV.com, downloading costs more than the cassette version.
