DEC 17: FIRE RECORDS ON ATOMIC POP
Fire Records has inked a deal with Atomic Pop
to make some of their releases available online via digital download.
This includes Everclear releases such as White Trash Hell
and World of Noise, which Fire Records distributes in
Great Britain.
However, these downloadable releases are only available to those
logging in from the UK, and do not include any out of print releases.

DEC 7: ART ON LOVELINE
Last night, Art appeared on the syndicated radio show Loveline.
He spoke briefly about the new albums, but didn't confirm the
LA Times story about the names.
He talked briefly about a song Greg wrote on his ukelele, titled
"The Honeymoon Song". As the story went, when Greg and his wife went
on their honeymoon, Greg wrote a brief little ditty on his ukelele. He then
brought it to the band, and it was turned into a full song.
"Absolutely beautiful song," said Art.
Art also mentioned another new song called "The AM Radio", which
relates to Art's love of old R&B songs from the days of AM radio. Both
songs will appear on the "pop" record.
Art commented that they will probably wait and tour for BOTH albums
at the same time in the late summer / fall of 2000.
He also spoke briefly about his role in the movie
"Committed". He
said he was initially given about five or six lines in the film,
but they decided to give him more (about a page-and-a-half worth total)
when they discovered that he could act.
He also mentioned the cookbook again, saying that it would have
recipies plus a few personal anecdotes, etc. But he's not sure when he'll
have time to write it.
A new official Everclear website is in the works to replace the
Liberty-Lyle site. They're still working on a URL (they're hoping
to get "everclear.com"), but it should be online "within a month".
Finally, he apologized for the 21 and over status of the Washington, D.C.,
New Year's Eve show. Art: "They offered us a lot of money to play one
show."
DEC 5: SONGS FROM AN AMERICAN MOVIE
According to an article from Sunday's Los Angeles Times:
The tentative plans for the 2000 releases are as follows. The first, due
out in April, will be titled "Songs from an American Movie, Vol 1: Learning
How to Smile". The second, due out sometime in the late summer, will
be titled "Songs from an American Movie, Vol 2: Good Time for a Bad
Attitude".
The article also notes that Art has worked out a deal with former
Mercury Records chairman Danny Goldberg's new label,
Artemis Records, to
distribute Art's Popularity Recordings music label.
DEC 4: ART ON LOVELINE RADIO
Yep, Art's going to be on Loveline on Monday night.
But if you live in the eastern US, you probably won't hear it until
Tuesday night.
Why? Loveline is broadcast live from Los Angeles at 10pm PT. Because
of the lateness, most east coast stations delay it a full day.
If you're not sure, tune in on Monday. If Art isn't on, he'll probably
be on Tuesday.
